The NGK CR9EIB-9 Laser Iridium spark plug uses a fine-wire iridium centre electrode designed to provide a stable spark while reducing the voltage required for ignition. The fine iridium tip also provides high durability for consistent ignition performance over extended use.

Trivalent metal plating on the shell provides enhanced resistance to corrosion and seizure. The plug features a single taper-cut ground electrode, 5kOhm resistance and a solid terminal configuration.
