The NGK BR9HIX Iridium IX spark plug uses a fine iridium centre electrode designed to reduce the voltage required for ignition compared with conventional nickel electrodes. The smaller electrode diameter also supports consistent spark performance while reducing demand on the ignition system.

The BR9HIX features a single grooved ground electrode, 5kOhm resistance and a removable terminal nut. Its metal shell plating provides enhanced corrosion resistance, while the non-projected centre electrode configuration and 19.1mm thread reach suit compatible ignition systems.
